I just returned to this thread to make an inquiry about this same subject. I consider myself "mechanically impaired" and I was able to find the filter. (Thanks Drew) There is a panel below the CD changer. It measures 10 1/2 " X 2". It pulls out. Beneath it there is another panel. It has two grippers that allows you to slip it out. Then the filter slides out. Oh what a mess it was. I found leaves and thick dust. My question is are there replacement filters available? My Lexus dealer is over an hour away. I vacuumed the filter but I would feel better with a replacement.
Tip.. there are arrows on the panels to assist you in replacing them properly.

Hey guys, no problem...glad to help other CL members.
I know a lexus tech and he says that they rarely replace the AC filter but the customer is always charged for it. This is the biggest scam going on .....not just with lexus but with other dealers as well.
When in doubt change it yourself....nobody is going to do a better job than you the "owner".
Even if you try catching them...and check later....they will just say they forgot and than will truly replace the filter.
Makes you wonder what else the dealers say they will do but in reality do not?

My dealer replaced my filter at 30,000 and charged me around $50 for the new one! OUCH!! I remember seeing a thread on this site a year ago about making a replacement filter yourself by cutting down a larger home air conditioner filter. Much cheaper than the factory replacement.

Just remembered another A/C filter story -- a guy I work with who also has a GS told me that he was getting a foul smell in the cabin, and he removed the A/C filter and found a dead mouse in it. YUK

RE: 11) Having the wipers in winter mode bothered me, but I had figured that's just how they were. Pushing them down not only gives a better view of the road, but the view of my car is that much sexier. Great tip.

#5 - Drew is talking about the lock cylinder that located above the trunk release and fuel door release on the lower left of the dash...
the lock cylinder can be pushed in to prevent anyone from using the electronic switches to open the trunk or fuel door... in order to release this lock, you need your master key... just turn and the lock cylinder will push back up to the oringinal unlocked position.
does this???

BUT it's worth trying them on your first gen GS as well

Well this is not really a hidden feature, but for me it's pretty useful trick when paralell parking. Since i'm the only one who drive my car, i used only one memory setting for the seat and the other i used it to adjust the side view mirrors to see the rim, so i woudn't get it mess up when i paralell park.

Hey Hameed,
I think you are right, the final move of the steering wheel does not get saved in memory. It is only good as long as the car is on. Might be a c-best fix but I'm not sure.
