i tried the subwoofer mod and when i held 1 and 6 and pressed disc 3 times it displayed P190. i had to use the seek/scan up down rocker button on the left under the volume button to adjust it and it would be like this: P190, GOOD, P360, GOOD, P440, GOOD. no other buttons had any effect except the rocker button and when i pressed 1 it would beep 3 times and reset to P190.

You have to push the AM button and hold for 3-4 seconds once you see the P190 screen. My only question is does anyone know exactly what these settings are? I know audio pretty well, but I can't figure out exactly what they are doing...

I'm not sure exactly what they do I just know it sounds better to me when I have F and R adjusted to 5, this suppresses the Front and Rear Speakers compared to the sub. Then put P1 at 3 and then the normal Treble adj. at 5 mid at 2 and Bass at 4. Otherwise I had the Bass pegged all the time.

This is only for the Pioneer headunit and you have to push the 1 and 6 at the same time now holding these two buttons down, you push CD three or four times until the P-190 screen comes up let go of all the buttons and then hold the AM button down for 4 seconds then the Audio screen will come up and you push the tape to get to the F, R, and L settings and the FM to Get to the P1, P2 and W setting you must go to the Audio screen and then turn off the car for the settings to work, put F and R on 5 to 7, 7 for more bass and then P1 to 3 and you will notice a BIG difference. You adjust the number by the up down controll on the side.

i tried and i got the same results as V8Lexus.
Press 1 and 6 together tap 3 or 4 times disc .Got to the P-190 screen. Togg le with volume button and see the settings P190, GOOD, P360, GOOD, P440, GOOD.
Hold the radio button after releasing 1 an 6, nothing happens.
I tried this with a stock radio on a 2003 GS300 Sportdesign.
No indication in the front plate about brand . only the compact disc logo and the RDS ( Radio Data System) logo .
Lead me to the next question ...
What brand of sound system my car has?

I was going to ask the same thing. Does it matter if you have a Nak or the OEM system?

If you get to the P-190 screen this will work for you, just hold the AM button down 'til Audio comes up and then adjust as described above. This is only for the OEM that says Lexus Premium Sound on it.

zulu you have the same stereo as mine. mine looks exactly as you described and ive taken mine out before. the back says something to the effect of "PIONEER CORPORATION Made In Japan" - jesod mine says lexus premium sound on it, are you sure this isnt for the mark levinson version? ill try it again exactly as you describe but also, what year/model is your car? it could be different. who knows it might even be a C Best that was unlocked previously on your car.

Mine is a 99 GS400 with the Pioneer stock, "Lexus Premium Sound" written on the front. If anyone else wants to chime in and describe what these particular adjustments do, if you like them, any additional insights etc. My friend that owns a 98 told me about these settings and I have written down pretty much everything that I know in my past posts about this. Has anyone else done this and liked this or am I just eating Crazy Cookies.
