Default wiper blades to summer position.

At first I was a little apprehensive to pull the blades down to the summer position because it felt like they wouldnt budge. So I took the driver side wiper blade and pushed it down from the end of the blade and both of them moved down at the same time with little pressure. If you do this make sure you grab the blades more towards the end not towards the base. Also pressing the lock button on your fob does turn out your lights if you have them on auto. its all about the timing when you preform this function. Pretty cool stuff I would have never knew about my GS400, thanks to the group for this cool thread!

Am I in summer mode? I bought the car with the blades set that way. I'm in SoCal, so I'm guessing summer mode is the defaut setting for the blades.

Pressing the lock button twice should turn off the light if it's in auto mode. I learned this when I bought a RX300 six years ago. It works on my GS430, as well as my Dad's '99 ES300.

I am confused about wich blade to push down for summer mode?

lostinthew says "I struggled with the wiper position too... until I learned that you change it from the passenger side, not the driver's side!!" post #60

SeattleGS400 says "When you push it down, push it at close to the end of the strong wiper arm (i.e. don't push at the flimsy wiper blade)--if doing it by yourself, push at the driver's side wiper arm" post# 59.

what are your experiences with this hidden feature ? Thanks

Joe,

Perhaps you should start a post about it in the LS430 forum and contribute
