First when you fill up was the tank empty? How many gallons did it take to fill up? If its like 8 or 10 gallons your really not out of gas you have a fuel sender problem.
If it is, first I would clean the Mass air flow sensor its a cheap fix if its it. I clean mine every 2 months or so to keep my car running properly. I don't know why but it needs it I have a factory air box too. Do you?

To get accurate mpg, do some math. Fill your tank up (dont top off), set your Trip to 00 drive for a few days or week or whatever, or take a long trip. Fill up again (dont top off) and see how many gallons you put in. Divide your miles by the exact amount of gallons you put in. At least this way you can confirm Cranix's good hypothesis.

btw, you might THINK its running like off the showroom floor, but we naturally wont feel the slow degradation until we make a repair

Muffinizer,
For whatever is worth, I get around 25 mpg on the highway as well, going 80 mph at 2600 rpm.
During city driving it'll drop to 17-19 mpg.

12 is quite low guys! Yes our cars are old and could get less miles, but that significant... not a chance. My car is in the crappiest condition, codes up the as s and I drive like an animal... I still average (city and highway) 16mpg. Definitely something wrong.

Does your check engine light work? I know dumb question, but it could happen. You say no codes, did you scan it?

Nothing is wrong with the car...just my driving. I've gotten much around 16-18 mpg driving more reasonably but that's not as fun

Have you checked your long term fuel trims (LTFT) on live data mode on the scantool? This will tell us whether your system has added extra fuel to the mixture to compensate for a lean mixture. Anything above 10% + or - is worth looking into.

Take your car to a dealership & get the fuel system cleaner. They use like 4 different fluids that go into your gas tank & clean out your fuel line. This improves your gas mileage
