i have tried to hook up a radio in my 1999 lexus gs300 but i can't get the thing to power up i even changed the location of the plug in from the center consule to the plug in over to the right by the factory amp and i can't get the radio to come out of security and this is my first install in a lexus or toyota done many installs in chevys and ford with no problem

aftermarket radio shouldnt have a security function stopping them from working, unless there are some with that feature and you bought it second hand??? look into the wiring diy on here somewhere, it was perfect for me the other day. ill try to find the link in a bit when i have a few minutes to search it out.
