Another note during my testing I put a tps on that was not calibrated and got a code immediately. Usually with the throttle sensors you will get codes immediately no driving needed to be done. With clogged exhaust it may take awhile or never come depending on where it is clogged. I wish I had of unbolted my exhaust or even easier taken out the o2 sensors long before buying 2 throttle bodies.

Hi All, So the problem has happened again.Same symptom of limp mode from a complete stop. It slowly gets up to speed. I was all set to replace the lever throttle body sensor but this time I got a P0715 code. The want to replace the APPS but this code goes in a different direction. Argh

This could be your actual error. The code refers to the transmission speed sensor. Hence you can't accelerate off the line. It shoude be an easy fix if you have access to the sensor. Sometimes they sit on top of the transmission itself. So you'll be limited to getting access around the transmission tunnel.

I went ahead and checked resistance on the APPS (1.7) and TPS (1.3). Both were in the low of the accepted range of 1.2 - 3.2
I'll go ahead and change out the transmission speed sensor and see what happens.

Did you check the sensors @ 68F ? Sometimes I would get funky readings at different temps. I think the specs call out at that temp.

It was around 75F maybe more. Could that cause a low range reading?

Resistance will go up as temp goes up.

I've got the trans speed sensors and will head to my mechanic on Tues to install them. Needs to be done from underneath and the lift will make it easier than stands. I'm still concerned about the throttle body sensors but since it threw the P0715 code, I'll tackle that first. Thanks for your input Mike!

I had this happen on the last GS I sold and I ended up changing the whole throttle body assembly along with 4 new O2's. Never looked back! Took a lot of guess work out of the equation.

It may come to that but for now the 2 new Trans speed sensors are in and now it's drive and see time.

So there will be a little delay on the progress report. A day after putting in the new sensors, my son had a fender bender. He hit a car in front of him at about 20 mph. With the car being 18yrs old and having 201k miles, there was a serious question whether the insurance would fix it or total it. If they were going to total it, I would have dropped the claim and fixed it myself. Luckily the repair shop understood my strong desire to keep the estimate below the "totaled" threshold and they called today and said we are good to go. Mainly hood, T-frame in front, radiator, 1 smaller headlight, and horn need replaced. Surprisingly, the front bumper was mildly scratched and the hood and grill took the brunt of the damage.

Update time. Got the car back and it looks great and has been running fine. Then a couple days ago it went into limp mode briefly with no codes thrown. Ordered a OEM THROTTLE BODY LEVER SENSOR 22060-46010 and will install it this afternoon. I'll update again soon.

Installed the new Throttle Body Lever Sensor yesterday. Even though it was only 4 bolts, access to the 2 lower bolts was tight and slightly difficult. I ended up also removing the bracket that holds the throttle cable itself just to give better access to the 2 lower bolts on the Lever sensor itself. The test drive afterwards was great. The pedal was very responsive and no sign of hesitation. Thanks for the great advise from MikeFig82 !!
