Default Cruise Control doesn't set

I'm having problems with my 02 GS300 cruise control not setting. The cruise lights up on the cluster when I activate the cruise control but if I try to set a speed nothing happens. Thanks in advance!

Could be as simple as a fuse, have you checked it? Could be a leaky vacuum actuator, most common that I've seen is a speed sensor issue.

I checked the fuses and they are ok. Where can I locate the vacuum actuator for the cruise control? If it was the speed sensor would that be the only thing affected?

Default Cruise control does not set

Jyoshi,

There is no vacuum control on the 02 GS. It is all handled by the computer. I had a similar issue, which turned out to be a connection problem under the hood at the computer. I went to check voltage on one of the cruise control pins and it was loose. It has been a while and I don't know where my wiring diagrams are, but it is easy to get to the main connector where the cruise connections are under the hood.
Good Luck.

Also verify that you have no CELs......some of them will disable the cruise feature.

Default Update

Just wanted to update the solution to my problem. It turned out to be the connection that is near the throttle cable. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in and everything is working fine. Thanks for your help.

It's all so connected... any engine-code or ABS-code will disable the VSV.
