Engine coolant temp sending wiring diagram
Hi
i replaced the connector harness on the sending unit (ECT) the one on the engine block. They have 2 wires. A brown and a black/red wire. Anyone know what pin #1 color is and pin #2 color should be. I took it apart and did not mark it and not sure which color goes in pin #1and pin #2. Thank you

According to this wiring diagram, the brown is pin 1 (ground) and BlK/Red is pin 2 (signal). But I don't think you need to worry because the sensor is a thermistor (temperature dependent resistor) which normally isn't direction sensitive.
