Is this part of the weatherstrip?

Can someone tell me if this piece that is messed up is part of the weather strip?

I'm looking at buying this GS but before I do I'm trying to track down the cost to fix the issues I've found. I've searched for Weather Strip, Window Gasket, Window outer seal and I'm coming up with nothing concrete on how to fix this. Some posts I've found say that the weather strip is about $400 + labor but then I found what I think is the weather strip for about $30 which doesn't sound right. Either way I can't determine if this piece is part of the weather strip or if it's something else.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm looking to possibly buy the car tomorrow and I promise I've searched and looked through the DIY section. It's possible I'm just searching on the wrong thing because surely this issue has been addressed before.

There are a few junked 2GS' in the Dallas area. Check Craigslist > auto parts by all > search term "lexus" and just pick one up from there. And please stop making a new thread every time you post. I get that you have questions and you're trying to find the right car for your son, but it's a little annoying. Just post in the same thread. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm assuming you are saying that that piece is part of the weather strip? If that is the case I've seen weather strip new for $35 as well as about $150 so I'm curious as to what the difference would be for the price difference.

As far as the posts, I get trying to not having multiple posts but I've only had one person give me something other than "search for that" and that's if anyone even responds at all. I've spent time doing some searching on the weatherstrip and haven't come up with much. I figured that I had too many questions in one post which is why no one is responding and it's time to start getting specific with the issues.

Again, thanks for at least posting something but I'm still trying to figure out what I need to get to fix the problem and hopefully find a DIY thread on the steps to replace it.

Thanks, I found something like that but I'm pretty sure I saw it at $140 and not $55. I might have had the wrong thing pulled up. I'll give them a call and see if I can confirm the correct part.

In the mean time I was doing some more looking around this morning and found why the weatherstrip I found on eBay was $35, it's because it's used. If there is only a $20 difference between new/used, I'll go for new. Either way it looks like the cost is not something to really worry about for buying this car. Those prices are a lot different than the posts I found where they said it would cost $400 for just the part.

I also found another post on YouTube about changing the weatherstrip but it's was just on a Toyota and not specifically a Lexus. I'm sure it's the same though. That helped as it looks like the piece that is torn off is part of weatherstrip from what I can tell.

Again, thanks for the response.

No problem man. Also, on any car whether it be a Lexus or a Chevy, those strips over time like to dry out and pull away from the car so any YouTube DIY video will give ya the install instructions and it'll be the same process for anything, more or less.

Just in case anyone else comes across this post, I called a Lexus dealer and it sounds like the part number for the front passenger side is 68141-30290 (driver's should be 68151). So far the best price I've found is $80 new but found a used one on eBay for $35. I forgot to ask if that comes with clips or not.
