Getting a message 'cold for disk' when I try to start my NAV. It was working but after disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it to solve another problem this message appeared and NAV no longer functional. The service manager at my dealer said he has never seen this message.

Looks like a HDD format issue AKA failed or failing HDD. Maybe try disconnecting power to the navigation unit for a bit then plugging it back in.

Off my head it seems like condesation inside the HDD? Usually it'll dissipate in 24 hours or so.

Cool Thanks for trying to help

I live in Arizona and our humidity levels are quite low at this time. If it were monsoon, then maybe. I am going to try disconnecting it from power and see what that does. The problem occurred after tires were rotated and auto had normal maint performed. The battery was also disconnected to correct another problem. Thus the drive may just need that power on reset caused by disconnecting the power.
