Default Sc430 ps pump

Anybody had any luck on replacing the ****ty leaky ps pumps on our 400's with a used sc430 pump? Seen a used one pulled from a wrecked 05 sc430 with 97k miles. Debating if I should buy a new oem pump or buy this used pump. I just don't want to buy a used pump and it's going to start leaking all over again. Thanks!

I would go with OEM but be sure you get the hoses and brackets, too. I've had to replace my power steering high pressure return line twice; it's a problem on the GS400 and SC430 as well. I probably check the level once a month just to make sure there are no leaks (so far so good).

I had recently replaced my ps pump with a crap 200 dollar afternarket ps pump. It whines and is non existent when I am not in motion. And sadly now I believe it is leaking again onto my alternator. Luckily I have warranty on my alternator. Just need to figure which route is best for me. Did you replace yours with a sc430 pump as well?

you bought it brand new? Online or from your local dealership? If you don't mind me asking how much did it run you for the part?

Actually I don't remember how much the actual pump was, the dealership put it in. I remember it was expensive to the tune of $800! You can find a OEM 2GS power steering pump on eBay for less than $200.
