Possible alternatives to Supra lsd??
So I was browsing around and stumbled upon a 8.5, 10 bolt lsd unit on ebay (just like supra LSD's). Description says that its for gmc/chevy but Im wondering if it might be same dimensions as a TT auto Supra lsd. Can anyone one with more knowledge shine some light on it?

I'm sorry but I dont think any LSD assembly unit will drop in our diff housings other than what is made for the unit like OEM or aftermarket R&D companies like Kazz. There are too many parts that rely on very strict tolerances and clearances based on backlack settings, friction, and other adjustments. I myself bought a whole LSD diff pumpkin from a twin turbo Aristo and it is the same as a Supra's except for cooling fins on pumpkin.
If anyone wanted to know, I see the Supra/Aristo diff final drive ratios called 3.73 alot which is actually a 3.769 or 3.77. The 3.73 is more so an American numeral used when Fords/Chevys ring gear teeth are divided by the pinion teeth. However on the GS/Aristos the numbers are different. I know this is only a 0.03 difference but can distinguish different car brands For example all 2GS diffs have a pinion gear with 13 teeth but the ring gears change. GS300s have 51 Ring gear teeth divided by 13 = 3.923 GS400/430s have 42 ring gear teeth divided by 13 = 3.2307 Supra/Aristo TTs have 47 ring gear teeth divided by 13 = 3.769 |
Worth mentioning that JDM Supras were available with a A03B 3.266:1 locking rear end in the 6spd RZ/RZ-S models from 96-02, according to http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...ferential-Info!

Yes and unfortunately the 220mm 6 speed diffs are larger, and the LSD units inside the pumpkin do not fit inside the smaller 200mm Auto diff pumpkins. Nor do the whole 6 speed diffs swap right over to an Auto car. Because the manual 6 speeds casing is bigger, it protrudes in one direction, and you would have to swap the 6 speed's rear cv axles in place of the auto's because they are different lengths.
