If you like the RSX, check out the Toyota Celica. Almost just like a Toyota version of the RSX but without the theft and insurance issues.

I'm in college and I have a gs400. Most huge down fall to driving one is gas mileage. 50 bucks every 5 days bud. 15-16 FTW! I sometimes really think if I actually made a good decision or not in buying one. Some days I hate driving this heavy gas guzzler car but there are nights when I cruise I just think to myself "damn I made the best decision joining the Lexus gang instead of driving a slow ****ty Honda." Maintenance is not all bad as long as you buy your own GOOD quality parts and just pay for labor. But like what others said if you're on the hunt for a gs300 get a 02+. They damn near fixed some of the common issues pre 01.

GS300/GS400/GS430.. All very good highly reliable Premium Quality car.. Only if you can afford the GAS.. I love my cars but using premium gas at near $3 a gallon and only getting 17-19 mixed driving, 21-22 pure hwy.. The Gas mpg is horrible now.. before 10% ethanol these cars got 25-28 hwy, now 21-22 hwy at best... Maintenance is cheaper than my Honda pilot. If I were a college student, I would buy a Prius or Corolla and wait til you're out of college to buy a Lexus.

Economy car would be best at this point. I'm in college as well and have had my GS400 since high school. Terrible on gas haha but I don't mind, I've gotten used to it. Although when I think about it sometimes I would have a lot of extra money if I didn't have to fill up all the time. It's worth it to me though, to luxury, power and torque, styling, and community behind the car is great. Like another person mentioned, if it's well maintained then its a great car. Recently about 170k(19yrs) I have replaced the inner and outer tie rods for the first time. I have changed the starter twice, timing belt twice, and water and oil pump once. There is slight signs of rust in a couple outer seams. Considering it's been street parked for almost 20 years in the rainiest part of Hawaii(Oahu) that's pretty damn good. These cars last a ridiculously long time if taken car of. But if you take care of any car it will last you a while.

That would great to have either 300 ponies plus 310-325 torque from low rpms is a wonderful thing. (I have two of them ) Yeah, if you can find one.. not many out there anymore in good condition, there were alot more 300's then the 400/430..
