No problem man. Ive read many complex instances of the fuel pump ECU giving people problems.
It has to do with the return type fuel system that is needed when the returnless deadhead style is pulled out of the oem system.
Maybe try bypassing it 100% as people have done this and got it to work.
So bypass the fuel pump ECU in the trunk, and just run the + and - wires needed and see if that works.
Maybe get some quick T-taps or something so you're not really messing it up too much.
If not, I suspect a ground, or something not plugged in all the way, or a wire spliced out of order
