Meh. Can't see them not having a 5-series competitor. Most likely they'll just call it something else to fit with a new branding direction.

Just a rumor...they said the same thing after the 2GS and 3GS. Most likely to stir up attention.

Makes sense. If Lexus wants to make sportier, exciting cars, competing with the 7-Series, S-Class, A8, and XJ etc. while also trying to compete with the 5, E, A6, CTS, etc. doesn't make as much sense as focusing on one model that can do it all.

I dont think having the LS be the catch all is what they will do. The GS has been the 5 series comp and I think it will remain that way, though maybe a different branding?
