Default Moog LBJ and tie rod made in Indonesia??

Rockauto
MOOG ES80585 (Tie Rod) 19.02 (made in Japan)
MOOG ES80584 (Tie Rod) 19.02 (made in Indonesia)
MOOG K500101 (Ball Joint) 33.79 (made in Japan)
MOOG K500102 (Ball Joint) 32.89 (made in Indonesia)

So I got my parts in from Rock Auto today. 1 ball joint and 1 tie rod says manufactured from Indonesia. Quality looks pretty much the same..for the lower ball joint the one's from Indonesia do not have 555 stamped on the back and they also have the grease fitting already attached.. The Japanese one has a black hex on there that you have to remove to install the grease fitting. The tierods on the other hand look 100% identical though.

Can anyone comment on the quality of the Indonesian part? Rock Auto won't exchange the parts because they do not guarantee where the parts are manufactured.

I took a second look.. and aside from the grease fitting being assembled in the Indonesian one the quality looks pretty much the same. Hard to take photo's when its in the bag with grease smeared all over it.. lol the 555 one on the other hand had no grease smeared on the bag lol

I just bought a pair of Moog LBJs and both were from Indonesia. Both had the grease fitting installed.

These days it's entirely possible to get even OEM parts that were made anywhere in the world.

I'm in the same boat, apparently the previous owner had new oem ball joints installed in 2009 at 67k miles (saw this on mylexus.com). My car currently as 87k miles and my mechanic said he sees no need to change them out yet.. maybe in another year or 2.

so for now I have 2 lbj, 2 outer tie rods and 2 inner tie rods all on stand by...

My bushings on the other hand are pretty bad. Can anyone lend me a hand on the part numbers and locations?? I'm still green to suspension's and I'm reading up as much as I can but I could really use some help.

Moog's are not what they used to be and the hit or miss on lasting quality is very disappointing.

My Moog lower balljoints had 555 stamped on them but were supposedly made in Indonesia. My only problem was that they were absolutely filled to the brim with grease, so after around 1k~ miles the boots were overflowing and covering itselves with grease. I suppose it's a good thing, though. Won't have to top them off for awhile.
