a/c compressor questions.... HELP
so my a/c compressor blows cold but recently sometimes it would stop working out of nowhere.i noticed when I was at a dead stop I would turn the steering wheel and hear the clutch engage and starts blowing cold. what could this be...
Wondering if your idle isn't too low and causing it to kick off. Does it do it primarily when you're just sitting at a stop in idle? Does picking the RPMs up cause it to start working? Often when you turn the steering wheel it will kick up the idle a tad and could be putting it over the threshold to allow the AC to kick on...

it runs randomly now. this morning started the car and the ac wasn't turning on.opened the hood and seen the fans were not running and the clutch wasn't engaging.then started to drive, fans kicked on then ac started to work again. Freon is good (not low) maybe a faulty relay or bad fan motor...
Hmm. Well I am not sure. I am having problems with my AC not kicking on on occasion. But it doesn't kick off once running. Still trying to pin my issue down. The light flashes on my ac button when it doesn't kick on after I press the button. When your ac quits working, does the ac light start flashing?
Mcaro,
The first think that you need to do is put the AC gauge on your AC system to see if you have the correct freeon on the system. That is the best way to start and see what happen with your AC compressor.
