Quick update, I know it's been awhile. Currently still sourcing parts but I should be posting new pics soon. Stay tuned, more to come. Post or message any questions, will answer anything to the best of my knowledge.

Isn't it the same engine from this Top Secret Supra?

Yes it's the same V12 as the top secret supra.

I would love to have this thread revived so badly. Hearing that it seems to fit and bolt up fine into the body makes me so excited and has me looking at motors for sale on eBay. Some don't seem too bad and go for 2500-2800.

I'm super bummed too. Perhaps someone will carry on the torch and now I'm curious into researching some thing like this even if my pockets are as deep as a kiddie pool.

I was thinking back to the very beginning of the thread where he shows how everything just dropped right in... would that work on an SC300 as well? Or would the mounting locations be different?

EDIT: Did some more reading and an SC300 would be tough. The swap is more suited for front sump cars like a GS or IS.

The advantage is having something truly one of a kind. I absolutely love the idea and uniqueness about the swap and would love to take it down to shows on Saturday mornings. Sitting around and talking with people who are interested in it would be a dream.

Lots of people in older 1GZ threads kept shooting down the idea of a 1GZ swap and go all "hurr durr 1JZ/2JZ better and proven and powweerrrrr" and sometimes it just hurts to read cause for some the swap isn't about power. The swap is about having something different. I feel a swap like this isn't one about performance but one about exploring your passion of cars.

I guess I'm getting old cause I don't understand the pure power wars anymore. Or maybe it's the fact that the power wars have escalated to somewhere between 1500 and 2k hp which is so much it's impossible to enjoy unless you are at a drag strip that's fully prepped. I like the sound, the feel, the oddities and eccentricities of old cars. And V12's and flat plane V8's have a tendency to sound amazing. I like a car with 3-500 hp that I can take down a back road on the weekends to a diner in some backwoods town.

There are some things I am curious about concerning the GZ-FE:

Do performance camshafts from a 2JZ fit on each side?

My understanding is that the itb’s from a 4AGE 20V are a direct fit. Can this be verified?

The dimensions are approx. 4” Taller and Longer than a 1UZ-FE but that it is 4” slimmer.

The Hartley V-12 from New Zealand should look familiar.
