VSC & ABS Lights, BMC, Speedometer and Odometer Issues
After a series of repairs, the last thing on my list was to replace my BMC (Brake Master Cylinder) or brake booster thingy probably because of a short in the brake booster control thingy. This issue would cause my brake booster to buzz every time i pressed on the brake, aside from the occasional instances it braked normally. Its annoying.
Anyways after one crazy Chicago rain storm, the following morning I start my 99 Lexus GS400 up and my VSC & ABS light up and speedometer & odometer stop working. The next thing I noticed was that the buzzing disappeared. No more buzzing noise. I took it to the lexus dealership, had them take a quick look at the response codes and had the following: C0210 - Rear Speed Sensor RH Circuit C0215 - Rear Speed Sensor LH Circuit C0226 - Open or Short Circuit in Hydraulic Brake Booster Solenoid Circuit (SFR Circuit) C0236 - Open or Short Circuit in Hydraulic Brake Booster Solenoid Circuit (SFL Circuit) C0246 - Open or Short Circuit in Hydraulic Brake Booster Solenoid Circuit (SRR Circuit) C0256 - Open or Short Circuit in Hydraulic Brake Booster Solenoid Circuit (SRL Circuit) C1223 - ABS Control System Malfunction C1228 - Open or Short in Hydraulic BRake Solenoid Circuit (STR) C1231 - Steering Angle Sensor C1233 - Open or Short Circuit in Yaw Rate Sensor Circuit C1241 - Low Battery Positive Voltage or Abnormally High Battery Positive Voltage C1246 - Master Cylinder Pressure Motor C1252 - Hydro-Booster Pump Motor C1256 - ACCumulator Low Pressure The technician thought this was a bit much. He looked at my ground (not sure which ground he was referring to... vcm ground?) and revealed that it was dirty apparently. He cleaned it off and reset my vehicle module/codes and told me to bring it back if anything. He didnt charge me. Everything is back to normal meaning my BMC issue is back, speedometer is back, odometer is back, VSC, No VSC, ABS indicator lights are off and the buzzing present as ever. I thought I had to replace my speedsensors. THANK GOD. True story. |
