The title pretty much says it all. Everything's completely reassembled and I'm pretty baffled... Part 22060-50011 on a 98 GS400.

It's a long thread but read this thread from the last page first.
Also, the title doesn't help much. What year is your GS, which model (GS300 / GS400 / GS430), list of check engine lights (if any), etc.
PS: okay i obviously can't read... you said it's a GS400. my bad.

I could be completely wrong since there are so many names for this part. When I replaced it on my gs300 I had the same problem because I didn't notice that it was spring loaded. When it's installed there are ears on the inside that need to line up. When your putting it in it has to twist so there is tension on it. That unit opens the throttle body not the actual accelerator cable

OP Stupid suggestion, but is it plugged in? Also, you can try repositioning the TPS to give more throttle. Also, you could try resetting the ECU in the case the sensors need to relearn communication.
When starting the car, as soon as it fires up, see if you get throttle when you press down. If you dont, then try again restarting it, but press all the way down to the floor once it fires up (which will give you 10% more throttle mechanically rather than electronically). I'm willing to bet that resetting will fix the problem and/or repositioning the TPS.
Did you remove the TPS for any reason while replacing the APPS? Thats the only reason I can think of that the car wont stay on. Replacing the APPS shouldnt cause this issue.
