Default Replacement Woofer Mark Levinson

Woofer died. Sounds terrible like flappy paper, its been like that for months. The other day I went back there and snipped the wires that lead to the magnet (not the connector on factory harness) because i was too lazy to do the whole seat and decklid removal.

Whats a good replacement woofer that bolts right in and will work well with the factory levinson amp?

I think i need something thats 8ohm? whats the watt range?

I just bought a 2006 LX470 with a blown subwoofer. I work at a Lexus dealership and asked some techs about aftermarket replacements and also did some research online and it appears that there is no good replacement for these. The price to replace one (even with my employee discount!) is crazy. I found this video
that is specific to my truck but the idea is the same - I am going to try to repair mine and see how it goes. I haven't removed it yet to see the extent of the damage but it could be as simple as just hot gluing the cone back together and not require a full rebuild with speaker cone parts. I read several posts about repairing and although getting it out will take some effort it still seems worth a shot compared to just replacing it. Try searching google for "how to repair subwoofer in (insert year make and model here)" and see what you can dig up.

This video was very helpful and I want to thank you for doing it. Reviewing the mechanics Lexus book helps...but your video clarified it. Thank you.
