Default How to make GS300 a lighter car??

What ways can we make this car lighter? What things can we get rid of? If anything? Plastic, metal parts... Anything? Any other threads out there like this?

Thanks.

It's not a stupid question, it's just it depends on what you're willing to do. Do you want full interior? Yes? Then be prepared to spend a ton of money. Replacing the front seats with manual bucket seats will save you somewhere around 120lb from what I hear. You can buy a carbon hood and trunk. Not sure about weight savings on those. Then lightweight rims will save you about 7lb/corner.

As what NoUltimatu says, just depends how far you're willing to go. If it's just for street, simple stuff like swapping your oem stock rims and tires to aftermarket saves weight and rotating mass, switching metal hood fenders and trunk to carbon fiber should help as well. If your talking about means of track or drifting, then a whole full interior removal & racing seats is a must along with reinforced cage is necessary. Hope that helps.

First off, why do you want to shed weight? Are you trying to make a race car?

Adding power will gain you speed better than trying to loose weight. You'll end up with an uncomfortable, stripped down slow car at the end of the day where as you could have added a supercharger and kept all the niceties and be much faster.

If you are trying to make the GSx00 more nimble, forget it. It is a sportier luxury car, but at the end of the day its a boat. Sure people have made them into race cars before but those guys dont have to come onto a forum to ask how to make the car lighter.

You are better off either adding power or leaving it alone and spending money on an actual sports car.

if you get higher spring rated coilover it feels pretty damn nimble and im happy at that, ive had stripped out hondas before and its not really worth it if you have hp to back it up its plenty good

I'm assuming the car is your daily.. Why would you strip down your daily? Why even buy a lexus if you don't want the leather seats, navi and every other luxury features it came with. There is plenty of things u can remove to save weight.. Like every option the car came with
