I have the Steering Rack Pinion Bushing Kits thats supposed to be installed by my friend but he got sick & couldn't do it. I asked around & most mechanics want $80-$140 to install it. Is it a fair price?

For reference, I was charged $100 to have mine installed by a local reputable Lexus mechanic. Yes it can be done by yourself, but I had neither the time or resources to complete it myself. Hope this helps.
