Default Sparco or Recaro seats in a GS?

Has anyone done a Sparco or Recaro seat install in their GS?

I did a search on Sparco and it just came up with SC400 related threads

I saw a GS with some full leather recaro race buckets on club-aristo.net not too long ago.
I actually kind of liked it.

Try slipping and sliding on them around corners - that's what's wrong with them!

After putting in my suspension handling mods, I tend to drive much faster now and I find the seats sorely lacking in lateral support.

It's not just a luxury car. It's a Performance luxury car.

As usual this is something that everyone has their own opinion on (to put in better seats), so each to his own. Let's move on guys.

Talking recaro's

i should be putting my recaro seats in my car sometime in mid march. it took me forever to get them and they cost a lot more than the sparco's but i think it's worth it. besides...what's a luxury car without power seats and seat warmers.

I also had the idae of putting sparco's in my car. I hate the fact that Im sitting on a explosive(side airbags deploy from side of seat.) but will it trigger CE light for removing airbags and seat warmers? Does recaro make the brackets to fit in a GS? or can mount it onto the stock bracket?

They weigh about 75 lbs each! Personally, I wouldn't do it with my car, but you could save some serious weight.

cyclemax : Holy Toledo!!! 75Lbs each!!! Are you sure about that?

GSracerRY: Do you know how much the Recaro seats weigh? Please explain in detail what trouble you had to go through to get yours. I would love to see pics of the seats after the install in your car! Please post as much detail as possible - where you bought them, price etc. etc

I am defintely leaning towards the Recaro seats now......

Hameed:

I didn't weigh them, but I can confidently say they are close to that. Ask anyone who has ever removed them, and they will tell you how surprisingly heavy they are. I work out often, and it was tough for me to lift them out of the car and carry them to the bench.

Thinking about it, they have a sturdy steel frame, several motors, linkages, springs, levers, dense foam, air bag system and lots of leather. The leather alone must be close to 20lbs.

Exclamation recaro

my seats weigh more than 15 lbs each...that's for sure... it's probably closer to 30-35lbs, but it could be cuz of all the electronics in the seat. i'm not gonna have them in for a while cuz i'm planning to intergate the seat senors from the stock seat into the recaros and then have custom brackets made. if ur lookin for a set or sparco's, let me know.
