Default Intermittent miss/bogged down

Had my 02 GS430 for a couple years now, and it's slowly developed an intermittent miss. When starting off from a stop, and when I'm cruising is when it seems most apparent.

It's very intermittent, but becoming more frequent.
It's worse when cold, and never really seems to go away when it's warmed up.

I read in another thread someone said they had bought a car with a cam seal leak, and claimed that the oil drip was causing the miss. My car is burning a touch of oil after sitting overnight, could that be happening here? Or is there something else I should check..?

i had a similar issue and it was a slight oil leak from the valve cover gasket if I remember correctly and oil got into the spark plugs. I didn't even know I had a leak. No puddles or anything. i noticed it from a dead stop and then hitting the gas at the light ... slow response a lot less power and then bogging down. Sometimes at idle it would idle very rough... took it in immediately so i only drove it like this for about 5 lights since I was down the street from the Toyota dealership at the time.

No, no codes. Forgot to mention that. I'll have a look at the valve cover gasket and report back..

I'd start with spark plugs/coil packs. All you need is a small tear in a boot to get a miss.

Just reporting back on this issue - it's been a while. My mechanic has been really busy and it was really hard to pin him down and have the car act up at the same time.

Turned out to be my o2 sensors! Even though I had no codes, he got some strange readings from one of them, so we just changed them on a hunch. The problem is 99.9% gone - I still have experienced the very, very occasional hesitation. But it's very rare now.
