Default EVAP small black box, what is it?

Hi,

Does anyone know what this little box/valve is? It appears to be part of the EVAP system...stupid thing was so brittle I broke upon just trying to fix the hose. I've included a picture plus a diagram with what I believe is the unknown box (about 1.5" by 1") with one inlet and one outlet. Trying to glue it back for now but would like to just buy a new part. It feels hollow and guessing that it maybe just a collection box but not sure.

Okay, finally found out what it was from a diagram on the web....it's listed as:

Part #: 23818 - PIPE, FUEL VAPOR FEE PIPE, FUEL VAPOR FEE

It's just an expansion chamber, still works fine if you bypass it with an inline barb until you get a new one ordered.

Default Did you find a place to get one?

I snapped the ends off of mine as well and can't find a place to sells them without having to buy the whole rack with valves... $180 for a 5 dollar part seems a bit crazy
Any help would be most appreciated.

This must happen all the time, I just snapped off one of the ends myself...lol. I was trying to disconnect the hoses to change out the purge valve. I just found this piece all over ebay for like 9 bucks. In the meantime I have a longer piece of hose going directly from the purge valve all the way over to the other connection that the expansion chamber was connecting to. I'm wondering if you even need this chamber at all. I also discovered a crack at the end of one of the hoses going into the purge valve, hopefully this was what was causing the P0440 CEL code.

I know this is way old...but by chance did you fix it? I'm having the same issue and have replaced pretty much everything except the purge valve but noticed my hoses are cracked that connect to that little black box

Did you ever replace the box? Any negatives from bypassing?
