Hello,

This is my first post here so please have patience with me if I'm not totally clear with my questions.

I just purchased a used (duh LOL) 2002 GS300.

It had a burned out licence plate light bulb that my dealer replaced, but the warning light is still on.

I checked and all the rear bulbs are working.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

And why does the warning light come on when I start the car, regardless of whether the headlights are on or not? I would think it wouldn't come on until I turn the headlights on.

the license plate bulbs dont affect the light out bulb....check again, one of your brake lights are still out.... then next time before making a new thread please search for older threads. i have seen similar ones like this around many times

have someone press the brake pedal & look at the upper rear deck brake light. one of them is out. The deck light have 4 or 6 bulbs in it.

Thanks for the replies. I did a search but I must not have used correct search terms because the results I got back really didn't seem to be very relevant. I should have been more concise in my search terms used.
