New to CL, but not to Lexus....
I just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you to everyone who has contributed to this site. I have been a longtime lurker as I have owned a 2004 LS and the wife has had a 1999 RX. I have since traded in the LS for a Toyota Tundra and the wife traded in the RX because she wanted a car. With that said, I decided to join because I had a question about my wife's new to her GS300.
She has been thrilled to be in a car again and specifically picked the GS out because of the looks, the ride, and reliability. Over the years, I have modded my Tundra and I think she is catching the mod bug seeing what I have done. I just picked up a set of 19" MRR HR2 wrapped with Falken FK452 for her car and she now wants to lower the car. I have never looked into lowering a car as I have only lifted my truck, so my question is what is the best, most cost effective way to lower a GS? I have done some research and I have seen several options as far as air bags, lowering springs on stock shocks or aftermarket struts, coilover set up, SAGE RCA's on stock shocks or aftermarket, etc.... Also, I want to make sure that the tire can be aligned correctly to ensure even tire ware.
I don't have a crazy amount of money to spend on a full lowering suspension setup, but not going to buy something cheap just to get the job done. You get what you pay for. Looking to drop 1.5" in the front and 1" in the rear.
Thanks in advance.

Hey thanks guys for the suggestions. This will be a daily driver and I am just looking to lower, so a shock and strut set up would be great. Any issue with alignment or any issues after lowering?

i prefer coilovers if you can squeeze the cash to set your ride height exactly where you want it. i feel like springs always bring the rear too low for my taste and whenever you lower your vehicle whether it be springs or coilovers etc.. go get an alignment. well worth it for many reasons. usually wait about a week or so to let the springs settle in. then get the alignment
