Lol i got a lil sumthin im workin on, either im going full 3 inch catback or just a completely whole new custom exhaust. And i had 3" cat back on my previouse gs4. it wasnt that loud, Only when i wanted it to be. The backfires were loud on decel. It sounded like gun shots. that other guys my buddt

It's a resonator for the mid-pipe.
I had the same mid-pipe replaced with the Megan Racing pipe sold on ebay.
It's a cool upgrade if you're looking for some better flow.
Good luck getting those bolts out ... LOL

On the 98-00 model year's it's a resonator, and on the 01-05 model's it was changed to a cat (or vice-versa)... can't comment on the sound though as I've heard that either it sounds better or it drones more; I just left mine alone. Good luck either way

I have an 01 300 with that 3rd cat deleted as well as the rear resonators. My bank 2 cat is after market while the bank 1 is still oem. I keep having my cel light come on then off at least once a month and reads p0410 if i last remember correctly. Basically telling me to swap out my bank 1 but its weird because the cel will turn off eventually after some driving.
JeiceLexus I wanted to ask if you could provide the part # or a link to which one exactly you bought and some general feedback on that mid pipe please? I took out my 3rd cat at the same time i did the aftermarket bank 2 cat and now have developed some rattle at certain RPM's. It sounds like those ricer Honda's exhaust you might hear around but i know its not my mufflers because the sound seems to be coming from either the aftermarket cat or that pipe that was welded into place of the 3rd cat. I'm really annoyed of that sound and want to get rid of it. We can't seem to get that sound when the car is on a lift. It only gives off the sound when driving/shifting through gears; usually lower RPM's. I'm hoping maybe that mid pipe will fix the issue. I'd rather buy that Megan pipe instead of another cat, which is what i had token out in the first place. Thanks man
