Parts that fit from 2004 LS430 to 2001 GS430
So I recently bought my coworkers wrecked 2004 LS430 has 100k on it, in perfect condition minus the rear end being crunched. I did 3k worth of maintenance on it including BC Coilovers, then wrecked it a week later… RIP
I’ve owned a 2001 GS430 for over 8 years I’ve done nearly everything maintenance wise on it that you can thing of.
Im trying to figure out what parts will fit from the LS to the GS
I’ve already swapped the front seats, all buttons work after swapping seat ECU and wiring harness from GS seat to LS seat. (So comfortable holy crap!)
Does anyone know if the front knuckles that hold the brakes will swap? I want to use the LS calipers but I know the mounting points are different to the GS.
Drive shaft the same length?
Front and rear suspension the same?
Center console(doubt it)?
Exhaust system the same?
Rear brakes caliper swap?
Does anyone make a conversion kit caliper part?
If you know anything that will swap over please let me know! Id love to know the knowledge anyone has.
Side note- I’ve been a mechanic for over 12 years now and run my own shop

Hello Sebastian. So sorry for your loss.😔
I cant speak difinativly on which parts swap but I might suggest that you just go to the various Lexus parts sites and compare the P/N's. I believe that the oil pan is mounted differently between various models as well as things like the oil filter etc. I know later models have differences like two wire knock sensors, throttle bodies, ECU's etc. There are some good videos on utube pointing these out. But control arms, knuckles etc. I am not well versed in. Good luck.

The coil overs are not interchangeable. The main thing I would be swapping over is the 6-speed transmission. You’ll have to swap the ECU, MAP sensor, and the wiring harnesses. You’ll also be able to swap to the newer fuel injectors. I would send the LS430 ECU to quantum performance and have them rebuild it, and put their performance tune in it, they can also delete the engine immobilizer so you can avoid swapping all the locks and keys etc.
so you were able to swap the seats? Do the LS seats have the seat coolers in them? Are the still functional?

His ‘01 should already have the newer, 2-wire Bosch knock sensors, the same as the LS430. I believe all 3UZ’s have the 2-wire knock sensors. If not then it would be better just to purchase new ones with the retrofit kit. They are much less expensive than what the older 1-wire Denso knock sensors cost. Since they are affordable, no reason to swap em.
