Default Valve Cover Removal

Replacing the driver side valve cover gasket today.
It looks like the oil dipstick tube will prevent me from removing the valve cover.
Do I have to remove the oil dipstick tube?

98 GS400 - 220k miles.

Mine is also leaking oil on the driver side so I am interested too since this is in my future.
