A friend of mine has said that the catalytic convertor is infamous for getting clogged.

One of my mechanics, Eli from Project X Customs in the Chicagoland area got my canister off my old GS300 through the wheel well without dropping the axel. Not sure how he did that...but it is possible

Could you find out details and report back. This would be huge!

My friend who has a 2001 GS300 also had these codes and changed the whole canister assembly without taking off the shaft either. I do believe he had to bend a thin metal lip on one of the body panels in the wheel well right above the subframe as the canister would not slide out with out bending that metal lip. Also I believe it came out through the passenger side too.

Been a while since I talked to him but next time I speak with him I'll let you know what he said.

Are you 100% sure it's the canister you need?
Hate to have you spend all that $$$ replacing it when all you needed was the VSV which is only 40.00 and 1 hour of labor

Is there an Emission System 1UZ-FE PDF available (for 1999 GS400)?
