Default M35/45 vs FX-r retrofit

Finally decided to do a retrofit on my 02 GS and after some research found that these are the popular ones. Just want to get some input on this two projectors since I cant decide which to get. Also, do any require extra alteration(other than Luxury Mod brackets) like shaving or trimming inside the headlight housing?

SC300JZ has a diy on here. I have the fxr and followed his guide. Luxury mods has instructions on the website and I followed that as well. I had to trim the headlight bezel where the turn signal is housed. I just used a dremel.

I'm not sure how the m35/45 output are, but the fx-r are amazing. I have a DIY somewhere on here as tiger4life mention. You have to shave the bezel. Other than that its plug and play.

M45 is what I have, fills out the headlight a lot better and super wide light output. Easy install with the brackets from LuxuryMods.

^ thats true, thats one benefit of the m45 it fills the headliight. I'm running e46-r extended shrouds and it still doesn't cover the gap. but its good enough.

i currently have the M35/45 retros, like mentioned above they do fill up the headlight very nicely and the output is good, if you look into my threads i have some pics of the cutoff after a little bit of modification. and the M45 are pretty much plug and play with the luxury mods bracket didnt have to cut into the bezel

I believe you will have to shave the housing regardless if you have autolevel.
