Congrats ph0bolus! She looks great! Looks like you picked it up in Vancouver?

Thanks! Yep, just moved up here at the beginning of the year. Got rid of a 4th gen GS back home, and now a 2nd gen GS up here. Just when I thought I was leaving the CL forums, it pulled me right back in 😂.

Yeah I did my lights just now with the 3M Kit - Wet Stand - came out looking BRAND NEW in 1 hour for all 4. $20
Going to Jet Seal them next (expensive $50 stuff but will make them last 1 year vs 3 months)

The Beast is back after Cat Back Exhaust, Pull Carpets, Paint Back Bumper, Interior Detail, Lube all the BJ and Arms.......

Buffed lights with 3M kit back to brand new no haze no yellow.

Interior Detail almost looks brand new after 20 years still.

Leather no rips luster!

Painted back bumper and Cat Back Pipes

Stainless Steel Chrome Catback off Ebay fits perfect, looks mint, sounds good, $350 USD

Keep up the good work. Gs400’s in good condition are getting rarerer... rarer... less common every day. Now, about that badgeless steering wheel...

Is there supposed to be a Silver Logo on the steering wheel? It's got the Lexus logo on it and the L is e,bossed - sticking out but never had one when I got it?

Just teasing you. There’s an on going thread about steering wheels w/ the chrome Lexus logo; It’s an option on some airbags.

It took 4-5 hours total. It was pretty straightforward. Just be patient the starter bolts are in an awkward location but after a couple minutes it was easy.

First mod in my "newish" car. Switched out stock bulbs to LED. Vanity LED's, logo courtesy lights, and footwell LED's should be coming in soon. The 194/T5 bulbs were too big

haha oh yeah I see people saying NO NO it will fly off in your face when the Air Bag goes off.... I could probably just PAINT the logo with some glossy silver paint lol would not be that hard I don't think.
Can't remember if its smooth or rough surface...

Replaced the old/broken hood struts with a $30 pair from Amazon. Had some problems taking off the 12mm bolt and almost rounded them but luckily found a quality wrench to take them off. Hood works good as new now!

I also realize, I need to buy or remove that sound deadening? material underneath the hood, it's an eyesore.

After I took the picture of engine, I found an area on the hood where the paint was distorted. Upon further inspection it looks like the paint is cracking, like something fell on it or something, there isn't a dent just a crack. Any idea on what I can do to repair it?

Youd need to the hood repainted. But depending on how severe the cracking is, consider putting a “clear bra” over it.
Its basically a sheet of thick plastic (google it) but it’s not to expensive for a big enough sheet and would protect the paint.

I just started using it and love the stuff; it’s nearly invisible and no more rock chips.
