Drove to work and back...I stare with amusement of my odometer as it logged in 210,000 miles! Engine and transmission are good.

This is a custom 450 strain fiber optic twinkle star effect I installed on my 04 Lexus GS300. It uses 3 different fiber optic sizes which are 350 strains of .75mm, 50 strains of 1.0mm and 50 strains of 1.5mm all 3 meters in length. It is powered by a 32W dual output led light engine with a 28 key RF remote and twinkle effect motor mounted in the trunk. The sunroof cover was done also to complete the whole ceiling and the cover still functions like it normally would. Overall the job is not hard to do but just very time consuming strain by strain. Also the upper half of the interior was wrapped in black suede like material from Joann Fabric's. Enjoy the light show.

That is really cool. Link to the fiber optic hardware you used? Not sure if I would do this but I'd be interested in finding out how its done.

Thank you. I wish you can see it in person because the video does not do justice. Everyone wants to take pictures with it in the background now lol.

I did all of this myself and it was a bit tricky to get the whole sunroof assembly and headliner out but once it was out, I just did a little at a time. I started with the large fibers first, then the medium ones and saved the small ones for last. On the sunroof cover I used epoxy to keep the optic strains together where they all meet and I had to lay them as flat as they could be all together so it would clear the sunroof frame when moving the sunroof cover.

They do make kits for this but the fiber optic kits usually come with 2 meter length fibers and that is not long enough (ask me how I know lol). Most of these kits also do not have that real twinkle effect which is a motorized wheel that looks like a piece of swiss cheese but instead just flash the lights so be aware if you want that real twinkle effect.

I bought the optic fibers from these guys:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/CHINLY-Fibe...53.m2749.l2649

https://www.ebay.com/itm/0-03-0-04-0...53.m2749.l2649

Light engine:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/32W-RGB-fib...53.m2749.l2649

12v socket for the trunk:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-Car-Boa...53.m2749.l2649

I also used some 16 gauge wiring to wire it all in and a external fusible link plugged into the radio fuse to power it up. I added a extra on/off switch for the light engine while I was doing my dual usb mod with 12v power at all times in the arm rest.

You should start a thread for this. Or maybe add to another one I think I've seen. Always been interested in this and considered doing it.

Got the spacers back on the wheels, looks much better. Pretty happy with how the car is coming out. Though now I want a daily for the daily. xD
Few more things I wanna do:
Gloss black roof
Polish the trim pieces on the roof
Supra calipers (but will probably settle for LS)
Do something about the knuckle slap lol
Roll fenders
19s
Sway bar possibly
Remote start (it's been real cold lol)
And maybe get it repainted.

Installed an Alpine 10" Type R marine sub in the rear deck. Also mounted a JL Audio 6 channel amp under the rear deck.

well it was time for maintenance. Replaced the timing belt-water pump complete kit, new starter (Note use toyota parts on these jobs), serpentine belt, spark plugs, struts (Bilstein are a little softer than OE with lowering springs FYI),

Went with Denson ans Aisin parts purchased from Amazon.

Nice!!! maintenance is so important. Good job tackling this on your own save some $$$$$ on labor.
I recently completed this same task minus the started replacement.
Looks like you plan on keeping her for a bit, lol.

Nice work on these. Did you do this yourself or had someone do it for you. I am looking to get brighter back lighting for my unit.
I contacted Tanin Electronic and they said they do not currently rebuild these.

Hey quick questions,

Where did you buy that spacer that you're using?
Does your rear deck rattle with that new 10'?

I once had a Polk 10' in my deck but had to take it out because the deck would make a horrible rattling noise that I couldn't seem to isolate.
I think it was the seatbelt mechanism rattling around now that I think back.
