Tom's underbrace touching!!!! Help!!!

Guys i urgently need to sort this out. Got a tom's front underbrace. Installed it and its touching the gear box... Did any of you experience this?? Is it because my engine mounts and gear mounts are old and because of which engine sits lower? Terrible vibrations inside the car

Nope...no rubbing or vibrations when I had mines.

I have it on my GS430 with no issues,no vibrations, and no noise from my Tom's front underbrace now my Tom's rear underbrace i still need to "notch" the exhaust a little more as it is currently hitting every now and then (i have the completely closed Tom's rear though)

BUT some people had issues way back in the day, i dont think this is the correct way to fix this nor to add spacers but here is a link (read it and it will give you some ideas for a fix also)

Wow... Talk about throwback.... This was my old car. :D

The shop that originally installed the brace used washers to avoid hitting the torque converter, but the proper way to do it is to cut off, move, and re-weld the brace, which is what Todd did for me back then. I think this only affected the GS400, which is what I'm guessing you have also? Good luck.

i know, i look at that link all the time....when i go hunting for my Tom's 6 links. i used your thread as a tool to install my Tom's front lower brace.

see thats weird i have a 2001 gs430 and OP has a 2002 GS430....i have NO issues with my Tom's front brace touching/rubbing but my rear Tom's brace rubs (although i got the full boxed version of it so i knew it was a possibility) im in the process of fixing this though so i just ignore it atm

I had that vibration issue on my 2004 Gs300 with the Toms brace. So I switched to the trd front brace. The Toms brace was much better just couldn't deal with the vibration.
