Lamp Failure Sensor
Hello everyone, I have a 2000 Lexus GS300. I have a problem with my brake lights. They are not coming on when you step on the brakes. Ive changed all the bulbs including the third brake light to see if the brake lamp indicator on the gauge cluster would go away. Checked all the fuses. Its still not working and after a few hours of reading and looking around ive narrowed it down to the Lamp Failure sensor box/relay. I opened it up and a part of it is burnt.
Does anyone know if I can bypass this? A few cars that have this lamp failure sensor came up on searches about bypassing them. If so, does anyone have diagrams to the pinouts so I can fully bypass it. I found a few pages online and one of them stating to connect pin 5 and pin 7 but I really want to make sure. Last resort would be to dish out the cash and order from the dealer

First I thought just the stop light switch on the brake pedal was broken, but the dash bulb out warning would not be on for that.
Post up a pic of the burnt part in the box, I'd be interested to see it.
