I get 375 miles on a full tank

I get 375 miles on a full tank, and the needle is on dead E, i keep the needle under 2k rpm at all times and never go over 60mphand this is with the ac on all the time, i used to hot rod it and get 280miles a tank. Now that i feather the throttle i get more.

Just sharing my thoughts and i recommend this driving method to everyone if your trying to get the most mpg out of your car and less wear and tear on the drive train.

heres what i got on my trip to the all star game in Kansas City
pic won't load but i got 468 miles on 1 tank, average speed was 63 mph and the ac was on the whole way.
I have a 2002 gs430

Straight shot highway driving will ALWAYS yield better gas mileage for our cars.

Arcadian 08-04-12 03:11 PM

Wow, with a 430! I get 450KM (280 miles) to the low fuel light on my 400. I totally respect your technique, but 60mph would get you killed on on an Alberta highway. I am going to try the 2000rpm method in the city and see if that improves things for me.

I get 520-530km max sometimes.. average is around 500. On a gs300.

GS4Beast 08-04-12 04:43 PM

i hate driving that slow, i'd rather use more gas and enjoy my GS than drive that way. Still average 23 mpg in the GS4 with a semi heavy foot.

TNH 08-04-12 05:40 PM

I probably get about 10 mpg. Pedal to the metal everywhere, lol.

I'm happy with my 430.. $25 for half tank! My damn LS was $95 for a full tank n killed gas faster lol

GS714 08-05-12 09:29 AM

Did we already talked about this LOL

Here is southern California and on the weekend only, I was average 25 mpg while doing @ 75-80mph. So 25 * 16 =400 with my GS300. On weekdays forget it. I don't even care with my inline 4 Camry LOL. There are lots of previous discussion regarding mpg in here and its all vary with geographically.
