Default Hids in Foglight

Question,
I had a spare hid kit around that I wanted to try out in my foglights. (I know many of you think its stupid, but had one available so why not)

I plugged evertying up directly to the stock harness, but when I power up the lights nothing. I put the stock bulbs back in and they power up without a problem.

Thought it was the ballast, but plugged them into the headlights and they work perfectly fine.

So my question is, I am assuming I will have to get a harness and plug it into the battery?

Believe it or not, EVERY case like this you need to switch the wires around... I promise and no, it makes absolute no sense.

thats what I thought as well, I triple checked and even wired it up to the hid kit that is hooked up to my headlights and they worked.

As i said... Believe it or not, reverse the polarity I've heard the same scenario plenty of times, makes no sense that it would work with your headlights and not your fogs, but thats the problem; same thing happened to me.
