SRT Intake question.
I want to know if you can install a SRT intake without the ecu? I keep getting mixed answers. Half say it will work and half say it won't. Will it work? And if it works will it harm the car?

Thanks in advance

You can! But then you have to worry bout the check engine light coming on. The reason for the ecu is to adjust A/F ratio, more air intake = more fuel intake if you only have one the light will come on. Just save your money bro and buy it new
gs300, gs400, gs430?
gs430: went thru smog check, no problems, just reset ecu every 2 weeks. its a fighting ecu thing, after about 2 weeks, the ecu will relearn itself trying to readapt to the stock settings even with the piggy back.
you need the ecu, otherwise the maf sensor will recognize too much air volume, ull probably get a CEL on if you dont use the ecu.

I tried running mine with no ecu and it didnt run well at all. I had to keep my foot on the throttle just to keep it running and it ran very unevenly. Exhaust sounded and smelled different too. I wouldnt do it unless you got another way of tuning it. Mine was on a 01 gs430.

I have a question do you have to cut the OE wire harness to install the intake? If so is there some where I can get a harness extention so I dont have to cut the original harness?
Thanks
