Default PCV valve replacement would you be worried?

While I was replacing the PCV valve and grommet I lost a small piece of the grommet in the valve cover. The old grommet was dried up. Would you be worried?

Deifnitely. You don't want anything falling in there.

It's pretty common to happen, it may be fine, but it may not. If you haven't ran the car yet just take the valve cover off and find it. Not too bad of a job to do.

Best to take off the valve cover and shake the little piece that came out, but realistically it's not a huge deal. There are 3 pretty deep baffle up there inside the valve cover that prevents anything from falling in. I think you'll be ok.

Is it funny that I'm kinda star struck right now? Jeff you cars are the ****!! Thanks for the input. I was able to stick my pinky in there and the piece pretty much disintegrated. I'm not feeling to bad about starting it up now. Thanks for the input fellas!

OP... Is the PCV easy to replace.. Do u just take off the engine cover and its there? I recently bought the small valve, grommet, and PCV cover as sort of a preventative maintenance thing. thanks

If you haven't started the engine yet then try using vacum to suck it out. Is it on I6 or V8?

Honestly little piece like this shouldn't hurt anything. I wouldn't go through all this trouble taking cover off especially if it's a V8.

PCV valve is a piece of cake. Pop out.....pop in
it's smart to change them frequently.

Engine cover needs to be taken off, but not the valve cover. It's an easy install.
