It won't come off!!!

I recently removed my emblems with a heat gun and dental floss but theres still some double sided tape. I picked most of it off but there is still come glue that won't come off. I've tried everything. It feels like it hardened onto my paint. HELP!!! How did you guys take off your emblems?

Goo gone! 3m adhesive remover! Heat gun! Repeat!

merlin911 Jun 13, 2012 07:34 PM

lighter fluid. if that doesnt work, go to advanced auto parts or pepboys. ask for an eraser wheel. they are like 29 dollars. you could probably get it online cheaper. they go on your drill and do wonders. i did my buddys trailblazer SS, my other friends cummins, and my friends tc.

im surprised u didnt bubble your paint with a heat gun.

a blow dryer and fishing line / floss would have worked fine

goo gone and good old elbow grease should work fine keep scrubbing!

Goo gone or Simple Green Auto. Wipe it down with soap/water afterwards then wax.

could also be super glue from the previous owner putting it back on or from a repaint... and didnt think to use adhesive tape.

Try WD-40..........

Dawa Jun 13, 2012 10:37 PM

+1 for goo gone. as well as: iso alcohol and perhaps gasoline.
or get a bucket of hot soapy water, which might take the longest.

usa5655 Jun 13, 2012 10:47 PM

i have the same problem..i tried everything..but couldnt get it of..

GS4_Fiend Jun 13, 2012 11:14 PM

go go gone, then you must polish to completely remove it.

L3XOTIC Jun 14, 2012 09:34 AM

Goo gone is definitely a sticky jobs best friend. Topped with some polish and you will be good to go.
