Default Water on driver and passenger floorboards

I have a 2000 GS400, I noticed the floor on the drivers side and passenget side are wet. Because both sides are wet I assume that eliminates a plugged AC drain hose? We recently had a few days of heavy rain and I've taken the car through a car wash as well, any ideas of where to start would be great? Thanks!

My vote goes to, leaking A/C evaporator box.

Dry it up and let us know what you find...

Went through sunroof drains yesterday, was able to pour water in each and see it come out just to the right and inside of both front tires. Was able to dry it out both sides yesterday using shop vac and leaving the mats out all day.

So, sunroof seems okay, not sure how to check for the AC Evap box, just run the AC for a while? Could a failing seal on the windshield do the same thing? Wasn't overly wet on each side as in no standing water, taking mats out helped quite a bit.

I had this issue and thought it was because of the clogged sunroof drains. I cleared them with some weedwacker cord but I still have the issue. I didn't know the floor was wet because of the dark color of my interior and only realized it was when the rings on the mats became rusty.

Would the AC still be working properly if the evaporator box was leaking?

yes it will just leak into your floor board instead of going out the drain. mine has been leaking for years.

Should cost nothing

Yup, it will work perfectly fine.

Fine the evap box drain tube (easiest to put the car up)
Gently, poke a clothes hanger in and unclog it. Should fix your problem

Could it be a bad seal around the windshield?

My gf's Escape always ended up wet after it rained and we traced it back to a bad seal to the front windshield. It would leak from the pillars down to the carpets

i took the hose and ran it on the entire windshield for 20 min and no leaks from it.

i think its coming from the center console behind the radio area. thats where the padding was the most discolored. i thought it was from the condensation on the rear foot vent but i dont think so.

and its only the drivers side?

Leaking evaporator box...

I have 2 GS's and both have leaks at the evaporator.
You can do what I did and defer the removal of the entire dash and make yourself a catch tray with a drain...

Good luck
