Traction control or lack of it
Hi all
As much fun as power sliding round roundabouts is for me , it really upsets my other half lol ... Made her walk home, ..... Seriously tho I've had the car a couple of weeks and this first time out in the rain, no lights on dash ,not even when you first turn ignition on got a button that turns it off or so it says but that seems to have no effect either !!!!!!!, has my car actually got it ?,
Cheers
Terry

Take a look at your owner's manual. I don't recall what the factory start up / diag procedure is for the traction control in this car. I think you should see some semblance of a light upon initial startup, showing that the traction control system has passed testing(?)
Also, when you press and hold the VSC (or TRAC?) button for a second or two you get no dash indicators?

Nope got the button but I could hold it down all day and nothing happens, perhaps the switch itself has a bad connection ...... I can only see on the display a sliding car symbol when it powers up but no other indications of vsc

It's always activated when you start the car. When you key it on, the abc, trac off, and vsc lights should light up on the dash. If they don't, then possibly the previous owner unplugged them to hid the error lights telling you the traction is disabled. Most likely, it's a wheel speed sensor or possibly you're throwing a OBD2 error code for something.

Snow mode feels like its working, just like its been clamped in a vice or like something is guiding it like a kid holding a car toy ....weird sensation ... I'm beginning to suspect someone's taken out the bulbs
