Default fuel economy

I just purchased a 1996 ES300 and I seem to be only getting approximately 400km per tank. my users handbook lists my fuel tank as being 70 litres although it only fills up to about 55 litres. The reason why I'm posting this in the GS section is because I seem to be getting a worst fuel economy than the GS300 and GS400. I met a couple GS drivers and the mentioned that they can get at least 500kms on a 60 litre tank.

Is the something wrong my with car? or are those GS owners giving me the wrong numbers?
please help!

Thank you

They're not lying, i own 2 V8 GS's and I can easily get 600Kms (370-380 miles) when my fuel light comes on.

I have a GS400 and in city only driving I get 425KM to the low fuel light. If I do some freeway driving in the mix I get 480 to the light and about 600KM highway only.
