Default My JDM 2001 JZS161 Toyota Aristo (in Japan)

Hello Everyone

I signed up on here some time ago when I was back in Australia and owned my 1996 JZS147 Aristo. I thought it was about time that I showed off my new Aristo from here in Japan.

VEHICLE

2001 JZS161 Toyota Aristo
Factory Silver (1C0)
Stock 2JZ-GTE engine
4 speed Auto with steering wheel up/down buttons
JBL Factory sound with 6 stack CD GPS and touch screen
Factory Sun roof
Factory boot Spoiler
Black leather interior
19inch copy Lorinser wheels (change later)
Hancook tyres 235/35 front 275/30 rear (I think?)

SUSPENSION

Cusco front and rear swaybars
Tom's front strut tower bar
Cusco rear carbon fiber (real) strut tower bar
Front Celsior 4 piston brakes
Insurance 15 stage damper adjustable coilovers
FIGS Engineering front tie rod ends (bump steer height adjustable)
FIGS Engineering front adjustable swaybar links
FIGS Engineering rear adjustable swaybar links
FIGS Engineering front 17mm RCA's to clear Celsior brakes

Toyota front lower balljoints, upper arms and various other components that required replacing

ENGINE

Stock 2JZ-GTE VVTi
Rare Mine's full exhaust system

ELECTRONICS

Power Quest ARS/TRC canceller (cancels rear steer and traction control with the press of a button)

Most likely there are things I have forgotten, but that should give you a fair idea what it's all about.

My plans for the vehicle are more handling and tweaked performance with a hint of VIP. When I bring it back with me to Australia next year, I don't want it to attract too much police attention, so the body will remain stock and 'LEXUS like'. Lowered stance, but not true VIP. Again, it will remain at a legal height and able to be used as a daily. By maintaining the stock body the car can be lowered quite a bit over the stock 'tractor height' actually. I will do more with the engine, but not going the typical 'big single' route.

Anyway, enough talking, here are some pictures! ENJOY

Chris

Welcome back! Nice, clean, and simple! Looks like it'll keep you under the radar with police.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I still have quite a few plans for it yet!

The rear suspension is maybe my next big target along with the brakes (I need new rotors and pads). I am also still yet to replace the steering rack bushes which is on my list too.

I am not sure about the GS300, but the JDM Aristo has plastic headlights with HID low beams. The plastic lenses go yellow crack and basically look like crap. I am going to buy a pair of second hand ones this month and crack them open and polish them. we'll see how that turns out?

Although the paintwork looks nice in the pictures and it isn't that bad after a decent wax, it really needs a proper cut and polish by a pro.

I'll keep you all informed of the progress in here from now on.

No, they are freshly installed Celsior (LS400) calipers. I re-built the calipers and the rusty old rotors came with them. In that picture, i hadn't used them yet, however, i am about to give up on the rotors and pads as they haven't improved after a couple of hundred kilometres.
