Default How to manually recline driver seat?

Hi guys,

So my buddy just picked up a great condition drivers seat from a 2000 GS300 for $20. We are planning on using it as furniture in the man-cave. I know, sounds weird, but we couldn't pass up a project like this for $20!

The only problem is that it is stuck reclined a little farther forward than we'd like, and obviously we don't have the immediate means to recline it. I can think of only two ways of solving this...

1. Get a wiring diagram for the bundle of wires that goes to the seat to find out how to hook it up to one of my car audio batteries I have lying around and recline the seat like it's supposed to
2. Manually recline it, if possible

I'm honestly fine either way, as long as some one can tell me how! Does anyone know the solution to either of those methods?

get a power probe & apply power to the wires to get to control it. or wire it to a battery as you stated....i would think that's the easiest solution.

I would say attach it to a 12v adapter and it becomes your powered seat. You can find the wiring diagram in the GS FAQ collection.

A battery from a drill will do the trick as well, i've been looking to do this for years! PLEASE tell me if you can get this done and how you make it work. PM me or whatever.

Thanks! Except I cannot for the life of me find that FAQ! Think you could link me to it?

Will do! I've got a spare battery lying around, I'll just use that. Or, I could use my power inverter.

It's in the Manual section of the DIY sticky. Use Internet Explorer, this site doesn't play well with the others. Look in the electrical wire diagram section.
