Default 3M headlight kit

well, at the shop i work at we just got this 3M headlight kit. i ended up using it on my brother's 99 GS300 to test it out. i wasn't sure on what it would look like or how it would turn out. our company uses another company called everwear for certain products & everwear has a headlight restoration kit. but after using the 3M kit, i don't think ill ever suggest using the other product. they turned out really nice.

before

one side done

completed

my brother was going to try to buy new headlights until i was able to get this done. this will save him some money & is good enough for now.

Did you use a buffer?

Very nice turnout.

actually this 3M kit has a sander & polisher. they are little air powered tools that you attached the sandpaper to. really nice kit. i was very surprised with the results. the everwear kit worked, but not as nice as this one.

yeah, im curious too to see how things hold up.but i think it should be ok as there is nothing that i had to apply to the light housing. so i would think that it would take a while for the outer housing to yellow again. but i guess ill find out.

Cool

I would get some UV coating to spray on them since they've gotten most of the haze off. SEM 21013 is a quality product and works well from what I've heard.

What did the 3M kit cost? I'm sure it's a bit of $$ since it has tools in it. I prefer the Crystal View kits, as I've used them quite a bit and for $25, they're a bargain.

That thing is useless without a curing lamp. Contrary to popular belief, no natural sun is not a substitute for a uv lamp.

I used 3M kit (has a pad for a cordless drill) and it turned out pretty nice.
I used PlastX and only sanded down with 2k grit

The mothers kit came with a small power ball. I did use some 2000 grit to get some of the larger scratches out.
