Default Transmission problem?? HELP...

Hello all,

I just picked up a 98 GS400 with 117k miles. Sometimes when I put the car into reverse, it won't go into gear so when I step on the gas the car doesn't move anywhere (just keeps reving) like it is in neutral. After reving a couple of times, it will eventually go into gear and move. I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem. What could the problem be?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Seems like the transmission is slipping. Drain old fluid and put in new.

Try checking the trani level if it's low top it up, if it's not low then you need a new ..
