Ok guys just an update even though I know this thread died.

The OCV definitely solved the issue and right now everything seems to be good. cost me 125 for the part and 50 for labor.

A lot cheaper than I thought

Thank you for the update! I never would have thought the OCV would be the problem.

I lost count on how many times the OP never comes back, on his own thread, and post a final resolution. Those threads are worthless. And this one is golden.

wow that was a cheap fix. My car recently had the same problems, I had to get new spark plugs, wires, valve cover gasket (leaking oil), intake gasket, throttle body cleaned, de-carbonation and something else....Anyway I got raped on labor, but I could of barely drove the car due to sputtering...But now my CEL is back on after the repair...Car is driving great but throwing codes P0153 and P0150......Getting frustrated....

bro i had the same problem with my gs300 03 sports design...
i would alway pull up to a stop sign & the car would start sputtering & bogging out, engine light blinking & everything...
scared the crap out of me!
sometimes the car completely bogged out & turned off !
we checked everything, MAF sensor, air intake booth, everything !
turns out the problem was that my COIL PACKS went bad, one by one..
i replaced one that soon enough the next one went out.. all in all you can pick some up from o'reilly for like 100 bucks with a lifetime warranty & due the labor yourself if your mechanic smart, its pretty simple.. dont let someone rip you off !
my codes where something like p0 something.. dont remeber
but they were cylinder misfires...
my car is an inline 6 so im not sure how the coilpacks work for the V8 you have...
but yeah just giving you my insight, good luck bro !
i know its frustrating -___-

I wish the fix was the same for every situation but its not. I turned out to be the lucky one....

shows proof that everything on here can't be taken as gospel (no offense to anyone on here)
but every car is different . the symptoms may be the same but the problem and solution could be 2 different ends of the spectrum.

I just hope this thread gives members other ideas as to what their problem could be...

I thought my coils were gone, I had severe misfiring, or something worse.

I hope you guys solve your issues

had the same problem....found out that there was oil in my spark plugs<<< .(reason for a mis-fire) Had a bad gasket. whats crazy, is that i had thought that it was the cat converters, because that was the code that was showing an error. but the short story is that instead of paying over a thousand dollars to fix the cat converters, i only spent 400.00 to fix that bad gasket and new spark plugs. car runs like new. I can feel the power in it now. that made my Friday!!!!!
